Our President, Tristen Schattler, getting the Peewees ready for game time!
Hey Bearcats!
Allow me to introduce myself as your new MYFA President. My name is Tristen Schattler and I am so excited to be a part of the MYFA.
Last year (2023), was my first year in the MYFA but my background in football stems from many of younger years starting at the age of 7 years old and continued through to Mt Si High School in North Bend, WA where I played as a Center for the Wild Cats. After graduation, I then was an assistant coach for two years with the youth league for Mt Si. Although, much of my time was spent in the Snoqualmie Valley, my family and I are thrilled to be a big part of the Sky Valley and Monroe area. The community here is far more welcoming than any we have ever seen and for that, my family and I thank you.
Sports of any kind give the feeling of being a part of something bigger than oneself. This particular sport is a tough one but it comes with so many benefits. You gain a team, friends and family. You gain the sense of dedication, accountability, you learn the value of discipline… and all of that hard work pays off. When we work together as a team, show up everyday and bring our all- that’s when we will bring on the fun and the wins will begin to follow!
It is a great honor to be the MYFA President and as such, I pledge to continue the value of family and the dedication of each family who is involved with the league will be surely matched. I hope to continue to inspire young minds with each year, sharing the value of teamwork, hardwork, dedication, respect, discipline and more importantly the love for football.
LET’S GO BEARCATS!
Sincerely,
Tristen Schattler
MYFA President

The NSJFL and Monroe Youth Football are joining in the efforts to reduce head injuries in football. All coaches are required to be certified for Heads Up Football.
USA Football's Heads Up Tackling® is a step-by-step protocol to teach the core principles of the skill and sets a new standard in player safety. The program utilizes five fundamentals through a series of drills to reinforce proper tackling mechanics and teach players how to properly tackle with a focus on reducing helmet contact.
