Hello Bearcat Families,
My name is Eric Weekley and I am honored to be the new president of Monroe Youth Football Association. Many of you already know me, but for those who don’t, I would like to share a little of my background.
I moved into the area in 1999 and I have coached football, flag football, basketball, and wrestling over the past 24 years. I began coaching for MYFA 10 years ago and a head coach for the past 8 years. I do not have a child in the youth program any longer but am passionate about giving back to this town, that has been so welcoming to my family.
I am a big believer in giving back to the community and I feel very blessed that I can continue to do so by making sure youth will have a safe and structured place to play football and cheer.
Once upon a time, Monroe Youth had 2 teams at every age group and now we sometimes struggle to fill 1 team at each group. Monroe High School is enjoying great success with football and the thriving youth program in the past has been a big part in that. The past couple years with Covid our youth program has been on the back burner. To continue that success for the long term, we will need to get the youth program back to where it can be with an impressive youth pipeline. This is what I am aiming for.
You will see me and other board members out in the community, recruiting, looking for sponsorships from local businesses, and participating in local events such as farmers markets to encourage more children to be apart of this league! We will also be holding camps and clinics for both football and cheer before our tackle season begins.
We are always in need of volunteers; coaches, concessions, and help with camps. You don’t need a child to play to help out! You will gain friends and strong sense of community when you give your time to help with the youth in our wonderful town. Please feel free to reach out to me if you want to explore the opportunities of volunteering or sponsorship.
I am looking forward to an unforgettable 2023 season!
MYFA President

Our Coaches are dedicated to providing a healthy atmosphere to allow all our young athletes to learn and grow as teammates and members in the community. Our family first motto holds firm in all levels of our sport. We are a direct feeder program to Monroe High School, come join our Bearcat family!
The NSJFL and Monroe Youth Football are joining in the efforts to reduce head injuries in football. All coaches are required to be certified for Heads Up Football.
USA Football's Heads Up Tackling® is a step-by-step protocol to teach the core principles of the skill and sets a new standard in player safety. The program utilizes five fundamentals through a series of drills to reinforce proper tackling mechanics and teach players how to properly tackle with a focus on reducing helmet contact.
