Ages

Grades K-8 are welcome to come cheer for the MYFA.

When

Our Cheerleading program goes from July to November.

Where

Practices are typically held at Monroe Memorial Field, Lake Tye or Park Place Middle School. Be prepared to travel for games.

Practices

When are practices and how often are they?

Example: Teams practice 2-3 times per week.

Games

The number of games is determined by the number of teams that we have. Please expect roughly 7 or more games for the season.

Jerseys

Uniforms are provided with your registration. Lost or stolen uniforms are at the parent/ guardian expense.

Extra Costs

All athletes are required to have cheer shoes. These are not provided by the MYFA.

Volunteer Hours

Volunteer hours are required- 4 hours per athlete. Additional hours are required by those with scholarships.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there going to be tryouts?

Tryouts are available for cheerleaders in Peewees through Juniors who are requesting to move up to a sibling’s team. Cheerleaders do not need to try out to remain in their age-appropriate division. Sibling placements are not permitted in Seniors. The Seniors division is limited to athletes ages 13–14 only.
